Can I edit my own Web site?
Can I edit my own Web site?
Solution
There are two solutions for clients wishing to edit their own websites. The first is a content management system or CMS. This is typically used for larger sites that require frequent updating. It involves building a database and an administration panel that a client can log into to manage their own content. These custom applications can be adapted to an existing website or built from scratch.
The second and least expensive option is using a program called Contribute, which is sold by Adobe. Contribute is the companion program to Dreamweaver, the software program our developers use to build Web sites. Contribute enables clients and content authors to quickly update their websites and blogs while maintaining site layout — with no technical knowledge of HTML and Web site design. Contribute can be purchased online at
http://www.adobe.com/products/contribute/.
